W&N Stretch Canvases
Winsor & Newton canvases are a high quality medium grain, 100% cotton, acid free range that has been double coated with primer. The canvases are for general use with oil (including water mixable) acrylic and alkyd colour. Please note that all Winsor canvases are supplied with wedges which are used to expand the stretcher if the canvas slackens in adverse weather conditions. Wedges should be placed in the corners and tapped in with a pin hammer. The use of wedges is not a common requirement.

W&N Deep Edge Canvases
W&N Deep Edge Canvases are a high quality, acid-free, cotton range that has been double coated with primer. The stretched canvas is of medium grain, made from 100% cotton and is ideal for use with oil (including water mixable) acrylic and alkyd colour.
The advantage of additional depth is to accommodate latest trends ie. the ability to paint around the sides and to avoid the need for framing. Winsor Deep Edge is available in rectangular, square formats.

This high quality hand made, medium grain canvas is made from 100% linen. With their lengthy and strong flax fibres, linen cloths offer a tight weave and stable support for oil painters. All canvases are individually shrink-wrapped.

W&N Canvas Boards
Originally a sketcher’s board, these superior quality canvas boards feature canvas laminated onto high quality boards of excellent stability. They are stretched by hand for correct tension and tailored corners and are triple coated with one coat of acid free sizing and two coats of highly pigmented primer formulated by Winsor & Newton. Artists’ Canvas Board is correctly prepared for immediate use by the artist and are suitable for use with Oil, Water Mixable Oil, Alkyd and Acrylic colours. The medium grain surface is ideal for all techniques including heavier applications of colour. The balanced absorbency and tooth of the canvas board prevents sinking of oil colours and improves adhesion.
